Life gets the way

Planning for that much awaited vacation? Expect boss to come up with a work-during-weekends-plan.

Never been late on payments? Expect your credit card company to jack up the interest rates.

Thinking of saving some money by moving to Vonage? Expect AT&T to hit you with a $1000+ bill.

Planning on flying after a long time? Expect Obama to pay a visit and lockout the entire airspace.

Hoping Bipin or Ashok would show up on the weekends? They’d get too darned busy to even say “See ya sucker.”

Thinking of VTA to save on gas? Expect a fare hike.

Thinking of settling down with the beautiful bay area weather? Be ready to pay $500 for registration renewal, 20% hike on cigarettes every year and greedy everyone; From home-owners to the tax system that expect(s) shit-loads of cash for doing nothing.

Life does have ways of getting in the way.

Then comes an occasional moment you’re least expecting. Maybe a phone call, maybe something out of the blue. And you wonder “Life has ways to get out of the way too.

The endless cycle of good after bad, morning after night, spring after winter reinforces what we forget. History repeats itself. Happiness redeems itself.

This Diwali, make sure you spare some time to reflect upon all the good things in life. Reach out to your friends and just spend some time with them. Take a walk in the park or just sit outside in your garden! Breath in some fresh air! Look at the stars in the night …

Happy Diwali everyone.
